Rising Star.....Ricko “Ak” Swink
Ricko AK
CLICK HERE TO VISIT WEB SITE
Born in Jacksonville, Alabama Ricko “Ak” Swink showcased a talent for entertaining, and being musically inclined at an early age. By age 16 he was penning complete songs that were passed around in a notebook by his peers. After garnering a substantial buzz Ricko began pursuing his passion for music, and by age 19 he would land himself in the studio for the 1st time. After being in several groups with little to no effort, Ricko set out as a solo artist. Eventually meeting up with a local producer in Atlanta by the name of The ILL Genius, he began working on his 1st solo project entitled, Trademark released in 2007 through PowerSource Entertainment. Though independently released, Trademark received rave reviews, and its lead single V.I. Pimpin Remix featuring Gotti (Cash Money) and Kalako landed in the Top 20 on 7 different radio stations in Canada. It also charted on New York's S.U.R.E. Record Pool’s Hot Off The Press Chart as the No. 1 new single. The pre-release of the single went on to win Best Bass in Hip Hop in January 2006 along with other accolades.
By 2007 Ricko Ak began putting out mixtapes with the 1st being entitled Made in Alabama and later that year I Am The Anedote: Chapters 1-7. Both projects were received well by the streets, and placed Ricko Ak as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Even the directors of the popular DVD The Raw Report saw star quality in Ricko, and featured him on volume 5 with major hip-hop acts such as Rick Ross, Young Buck, and Rich Boy. Since then Ricko Ak has been featured in several magazine and news publications working with major and indie artists as well as producers such as Dj Green Lantern (Myspace Invasion 5), and Deezle (best known for producing Lil’ Wayne’s hit single, Lollipop). A hosting gig would soon follow on the popular tv show known as Mix-Tape TV allowing Ricko to interview such artists as Trina and Lil’ Boosie.
Feeling the need to give back to his city, Ricko Ak established Project Sincere (non-profit organization) dedicated to teaching and educating the Boys & Girls Club youth. He also hosts an annual event called Summer Jam Concert through his independent imprint, Lavish Lyfe Music Group, which showcases artists from around the country every May.
In 2010 Ricko Ak set out to push his brand and music out even further by dropping 3 mixtapes in one year as a series entitled Warning Shotz (available at DatPiff.com). Gearing up to release his 10th independent effort as an EP entitled Ova 4 Da Game, Ricko Ak is sure to deliver yet again, and set the industry on fire as talks are beginning to form about the rising star. Ricko recently filmed 5 Mics The Cypher DVD which will be released in the near future. For more information about Ricko Ak contact Eve (StreetClassy Media) at 301.452.0686.

New Music Alert!!! Mic-check What Part of the Game is This?!
It’s no question “the game” needs changing and Mic-Check is trying his best with his well produced mixtape full of big beats and lyrical dexterity. “What Part of the Game is This!? ” is this Westside Atlanta native’s latest offering which is hosted by Da Real Home Team, and presented by High Maintenance Entertainment.
Mic-Check comes out hard and doesn’t let up. “What part of the Game is this?!” starts off with an original track (the majority are) called “What Part of the Game is This!?” which gives us an intro into Mic-Check’s superior wordplay, distinct voice, and agile delivery.
Although Mic-Check is extremely lyrical “What Part of the Game is This!?” is not lacking in potential singles. “Bitch we came to party” is a dance track that has a classic Atlanta sound and feel, with a hook and message that anybody can relate to.
Rappers need several tools in their arsenal and shouldn’t rely on one exclusively.
“What Part of the Game is This!?” is an ambitious attempt by Mic-Check at bringing skills back to the forefront of this rap game. This mixtape won’t single-handedly do it, but if enough people listen it will prove to be a catalyst
